Jennifer started decorating cakes when she was only 9 years old and says that her mother inspired her to start her business; “She taught me the joy of baking.” After 14 years working at a job that her heart was not into, Jennifer decided she needed a change. At that point she turned her garage into a store front where she began to sell her cakes and other sweets. Offering fresh, home-made products daily sets her apart from her competitors at the big box stores and has been a huge part of her success. Jennifer realises the impact that “Buying Local” has on her and her area. When buying local “you not only get personal service and real value, but you help strengthen your community and economy.”

We asked Jennifer if she could offer some advice for other entrepreneurs looking to go into business. “My advice for anyone wanting to go into business is put your heart and soul in what you to do. Make it fun. When interacting with your customers treat every visit as if it was their first, and they will continue to support you. Your passion will ensure the success of your business.”
