Executive Director
(Full-time Position)
Location: Grand Falls, New Brunswick
The objective of the network of CBDCs is to help build vibrant communities across Atlantic Canada by stimulating private-sector employment in rural communities. We work in the creation, expansion, and modernization of small and medium-sized businesses by providing financial support, skills training and counselling services to entrepreneurs.
We are seeking a professional to join our Grand Falls team. Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Corporation. You will manage an annual operating budget of $350,000 and a loans portfolio of $9 million. You will be responsible for the general promotion and public relations of the Corporation. You will prepare reports and financing requests to a variety of government departments. You will oversee the annual audit process and be responsible for developing strategic plans and supervising all other staff.
You will analyze business plans, assist CBDC personnel prepare/review legal documents, loan collection/repossession as well as accounting management. You will require excellent communication skills, as you will be in constant communication with entrepreneurs, board members, government agencies and business associations. You will need to be client-focused, and actively engaged in executing activities that support community business development and that contribute to the long-term development and success of the CBDC Victoria Madawaska-South.
Requirements -- The preferred candidate will possess:
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or the equivalent in experience and training
- 7 to 10 years of work experience in the banking or financial industry
- A sound understanding of business planning, management, and accounting
- Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, in both English and French
- Excellent partnership-building skills
- Excellent knowledge of the Northwest region (businesses and community)
- Be self-motivated, focused on results, and thrive in a team environment
