CBDC Restigouche - Community Services
Counselling program
Counselling services aim to improve the psychological well-being of individuals and the functioning of families in the community.
Our team consists of psychologists, social workers, and other therapists ready to help and support you by offering a variety of counselling services and individual, family, and couple therapy. We are committed to helping members of the Restigouche, Gaspésie, and First Nations communities in all aspects of their life.
Group Employee Assistance Program
Restigouche Family Services often works with employers and union representatives to help them conduct assessments, interventions and develop resources on effective treatments.
Child and Youth Services
Child and Youth Services provides a range of services aimed at child development while improving family functioning and involvement. The worker is responsible for participating in improving family functioning and supporting the family during the development and implementation of a child-care plan. The qualified team of workers helps with cases of children in care, independent living, special needs children, and child protection, referred by the Department of Social Development.
Independent Living Program
This program aims to acquire skills allowing to achieve a high level of autonomy so that the young person can participate actively in daily life while maintaining positive relationships with those around him/her.
Industrial and Organizational Psychology
The workplace has a major influence on employees’ mental health and well-being, hence the importance of good management practices. Drawing on their expertise in applied psychology in the workplace, industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology consultants offer support to a wide variety of companies and other organizations. Their support is focused on developing talent and leadership skills, as well as on managing individuals and groups strategically so their objectives are aligned with organizational goals.
Residential Services
Our six specialized residences aim to provide specialized services to children/adults with developmental, therapeutic, physical, and emotional special needs. Our goal is to help them overcome everyday situations and to promote an increase in autonomy for the children to reach their full potential. These placements come from the Department of Social Development.
Group Home (Youth Priority Center)
This group home provides residential services to children aged 6 to 18 years old. The primary purpose is to provide a safe, protective, and therapeutic environment that fosters their development and identities while meeting their educational, social, behavioural, developmental, medical, and emotional special needs.
The Center’s mission is to empower children and engage them in a process that allows them to foster their well-being and develop to their full potential. We help children and their families shoulder their responsibilities and join forces to accept, limit or eliminate the circumstances or behaviours that prevented creating a good family life.
The Center also provides a transitional or emergency bed, and an external worker services program focused on socialization and developing parental abilities.
