Viva Group is an Aboriginal public relations and community development company headquartered in Labrador West that offers communications, project development, strategic council, event planning, human resources and business planning. When starting Viva Group, Norman and Nippard availed of the CBDC Self-Employment Benefit Program. Viva Group’s first contract was with Cain’s Quest Snowmobile Endurance Race, the longest snowmobile endurance race in Canada. The event was a major success and helped launch and market Viva Group. Despite the added challenge of working in a single-industry mining region, they haven’t looked back. Today, Viva Group customers include not-for-profit organizations, small businesses, large sporting events, municipalities, recreation groups, large mining companies and individuals. “The partnership is incredible. We are yin and yang, but it works. And we love what we do. The appreciation that we get from our clients makes it so rewarding,” said Nippard.
