Living Her Dream
Living Her Dream
Elizabeth Hogg is crazy about horses-has been for a lifetime. When the small company she managed for Nordsea Ltd. closed, she decided to turn her hobby into a business. With the help of her contractor husband, she now has a 56x32 ft. barn with nine stalls, a number of pastures and outdoor runs. The 49 year old entrepreneur teaches riding classes, sets up clinics, and boards horses. Her dream is to build 64 more feet onto the barn with an indoor 120 ft. riding arena.
The owner of “Char-Lee Horse Stables” in Thomasville says, “It’s hard to believe I’m doing this full time. It’s a lot of work but I just can’t describe how much I love this.” With the help of CBDC, Hogg plugged into a $2000 training allowance and took some specialized courses. “I also took a marketing strategy workshop that was phenomenal. The staff at CBDC has been a godsend.” Now that she is ready to proceed with a $150,000 expansion, her first stop is to see the folks at CBDC.
