The Greater Grand Falls Community Prepares to Celebrate Its Stars

(Grand Falls, NB) Célébrons nos étoiles / Time to Shine Awards is the theme chosen by the region’s economic development partners for their evening of recognition to be held on October 21st. The organizing committee is already preparing an event that will be quite exceptional since it will be a collective event in which all the population will be able to participate thanks to its virtual format.

“The pandemic meant that we were not able to do our recognition nights last year. So for 2021, we decided to take the necessary steps to ensure the presentation of our awards», explains Rebecca Ellis, President of the Valley Chamber of Commerce and member of the organizing committee. “The details have yet to be defined, but this year we decided to bring our efforts together to present the recognition awards at a single major event that will be presented both face-to-face and virtually,” adds Denise Lagacé-Rioux, CBDC Executive Director Victoria Madawaska-South and also a member of the committee.

The nomination period is now open and the public is asked to submit nominations in the following categories:

• Exceptional Young Entrepreneur – CBDC Victoria Madawaska-South
• Exceptional Business – The Valley Chamber of Commerce
• Exceptional Woman – Network of Women (NOW)

Since this past year was quite extraordinary for all, the awards have a different name for this year, and refer to exceptional people. Please consult the nomination forms for the criteria for each award which may be different from previous years. The President of the Network of Women (NOW) and member of the organizing committee, Tania GodboutCôté, encourages people to participate and submit their nominations. “As the theme points out, we have stars in our communities that deserve to be recognized, but we need everyone’s help to know why they’re exceptional.” Nomination forms are available from the partners and submissions need to be received by June 11, 2021.
