The goal of Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) is to help build vibrant communities in Atlantic Canada by stimulating private sector job creation in rural communities. Across Atlantic Canada, the CBDCs work to create, expand and modernize small and medium-sized businesses by providing financial assistance, training and consulting services to entrepreneurs. The New Brunswick Association of CBDCs is currently looking at hiring an student in order to maximise digital & virtual strategies into the CBDC network in New Brunswick, and to work with existing source files.
Summary of functions
- Critical, analytical and practical communications skills
- Research of new digital and virtual opportunities in social media
- Advise and assist on creating digital content
- Develop new content by relying on graphs, images and key words (e.g., with Infographics)
- Assistance in videoconferences and/or webinar platforms (e.g., programming streaming events, coordinating live polling, etc.)
- Be comfortable with videoconference platforms as Zoom Meeting and Microsoft Teams
- Have experience with basic social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to create content
- Have experience with Microsoft Offices platforms such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Have experience with the Adobe Illustrator application for organizing PDF documents, an asset
- Have experience with the CANVA platform for creating visual social media content, an asset
Requirements:
The selected candidate:
- Have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both in French and in English
- Willingness to explore new technological trends and tools
- High attention to detail
- Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere
- Must have one of the following statuses regardless of age, to be eligible. (Students on work visas or study permits are not eligible)
- Canadian citizen;
- Permanent resident; or
- A protected as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ;
- Must be registered at a Canadian accredited post-secondary institution
Work conditions
Status: Contract, located in Grand Falls, New Brunswick (Remote work could be considered)
Salary: $17/hours
