We're Hiring a Human Resource Specialist!
In collaboration with CBDC Eastern PEI, CBDC Central PEI is now delivering the MomentumHR program in the rural Central Queen’s County area. Based on the success of 5 years of the program in Eastern PEI, we are seeking a Human Resource Specialist (HRS) to join our team to work alongside small-to-medium business owners (SMEs). Over a minimum 14-month term (with the possibility of extension depending on funding), including training and mentorship, the HRS will work one-on-one with employers to provide HR expertise and guidance. Through consultative services and assessments of the SME’s you recruit, you will help employers create and build HR Policies based on their individual company needs.
What will you do?
- Plan, organize, direct, evaluate and guide the operations of human resources of SMEs.
- Coordinate internal and external training and recruitment activities.
- Develop and implement labour relations policies and procedures.
- Ensure employee development through training/education and health and safety programs.
- Envisioning a future state and developing strategies, goals, objectives, and action plans to achieve it.

- Mentorship: You will receive targetted human resources training from the HR Consultant based on best practices of the MomentumHR program developed over the last 5 years. You will remain in close contact with them throughout the term, and you will be thoroughly prepared before meeting with clients.

- Competitive Salary: The right candidate for this role will be compensated at $23.50/hour, for 35 hrs/week, Monday-Friday.

Who you are:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, industrial relations, commerce, or psychology. Human Resource certificate and/or CHRP designation will be considered an asset, but not necessary.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in human resources is preferred along with other comparable experience.
- Skills: You are someone with excellent verbal and communication skills, and your friends and colleagues refer to you as a team player and a leader who communicates ideas with ease. You’re just as skilled at conflict resolution as you are at building relationships and partnerships. You have a general understanding of SME operations and human resources management, but most importantly, you are eager to learn and grow alongside our company and your clients.
