CBDC Ambitions magazine wins silver at Canadian Online Publishing Awards
The CBDC magazine Ambitions recently won big at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards, held in Toronto on February 8, 2024. Bringing home two silver awards in two of the four categories it was a finalist, Ambitions won silver awards for Best Digital Edition Publication and Best Product Story in the Business to Business Category.
Best Digital Edition Publication
This award is for the media property that best combines the print reading experience in their digital publication as digital replica or other digital means. The media brand that best exhibits its brand character through its graphic design, editorial strategy, mix of stories and digital savvy will be worthy of this honour.
Best Product Story
Awarded to the B2B (Business to Business) publication deemed to best serve its audience through a product feature article. These stories can include, but not restricted to, product reviews, testimonials and videos. The entry was judged on quality of writing, reporting, use of video/photos and multi-platform design.
A new initiative of the Atlantic Association of Community Business Development Corporation, the first edition of Ambitions was launched in April 2023 and shares the stories of client success from across the Atlantic region and provides insight on the work the provincial associations and individual CBDCs do to champion small business in rural Atlantic Canada. The publication was designed and published by the Atlantic Association of CBDCs. Content was created by a mix of freelance and staff writers and professional photographers, graphic design and creative direction by Helen Michel.
Ambitions can be viewed online in flipbook format on the CBDC website cbdc.ca/Ambitions or on the Ambitions microsite, perfect for mobile devices, cbdcambitions.ca. Printed versions were distributed across the Atlantic region in the spring of 2023. Watch for the next edition of Ambitions which will be distributed in early April through the network of CBDCs (Community Business Development Corporations) .
