Press Release - Women in Business New Brunswick Celebrates 20 Years of Empowering Women Entrepreneurs
Bathurst, New Brunswick – Women in Business New Brunswick (WBNB) proudly announces its 20th anniversary, marking two transformative decades of championing and nurturing women entrepreneurs in New Brunswick. Since its inception in 2003, WBNB has been at the forefront of fostering gender equality in business, consistently carving out opportunities for women to thrive.
Over the past 20 years, WBNB has provided an array of resources, mentorship, training, and networking opportunities tailored specifically for women in business and addressing gaps in the New Brunswick business ecosystem. “By facilitating access to vital information, resources, and a supportive community, WBNB has been instrumental in aiding women to overcome obstacles and challenges and reach success.”, said Rebecca Preston, Director of WBNB.
“Creating a supportive community, fostering collaboration, and providing a platform for shared experiences and resources amongst women entrepreneurs in all parts of New Brunswick and coming from different backgrounds is necessary. On behalf of the Advisory Committee, I can testify that advocating for gender equality and having more women entrepreneurs thriving is a win-win because diversity in entrepreneurship brings a variety of perspectives, fosters innovation, and contributes to a more inclusive and balanced economy for our province,” said Angele Miller, President of the Advisory Committee of WBNB.
Throughout its journey, WBNB has witnessed and contributed to countless inspiring stories of women who have transformed their ideas into thriving enterprises. From startups to established businesses, WBNB has nurtured and celebrated the accomplishments of women entrepreneurs across various industries.
As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, WBNB will host a series of events and initiatives, including a special 20-day campaign, “20 days of Celebration” from November 10 to 29, featuring one small business per day on social media; the launch of new tools, including a learning library to help clients on their journey; the kick-off of new programs, including a succession program in collaboration with RDÉE Nouveau-Brunswick, developed to support and guide women throughout the entrepreneurial succession process that makes it easier for women to take over a business; and social media campaigns, including video testimonials and spotlights on our clients throughout the year to commemorate this milestone and shine a light on inspiring clients.
"WBNB extends its sincere gratitude to the numerous partners and supporters who have contributed to its growth over the past two decades, including funding partners and volunteers", adds Rebecca Preston. "WBNB aims to continue to engage, educate, and inspire the next generation of women entrepreneurs, ensuring a vibrant and prosperous business community in New Brunswick for years to come."
