Sharp as a Tack: Frontier Tattoo Studio
Frontier Tattoo Studio stands out not just for its artistry, but for its unwavering commitment to safety, education, and inclusivity. Offering body modifications from award-winning tattoo artists and piercings from accredited professionals, Frontier Tattoo Studio promises a safe, sterile, but welcoming environment for all its clients.
Frontier Tattoo Studio was founded in 2017 by Renee Sigurdson, a seasoned professional with more than a decade of piercing experience. Located in Bay Roberts, Frontier is the only Association of Professional Piercers (APP) member studio in the province, an accreditation, Renee says underscores her commitment to the highest standards of care and quality in body modification.
Pins and Needles
The labour of love has allowed Renee to invest in her community - both the community of Bay Roberts through fundraising and donations - but also the larger body-modification community who travel to work with her by providing an inclusive, welcoming space and modification safety education.
“We don’t stop working when the studio is closed,” Renee says. “(We are) continually educating ourselves as newer innovations arise.”
With a diploma in Anatomy Specialization from the University of Michigan and applied jewelry science from the Geological Institute of America, Renee brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.
Shine Bright Like a Diamond
When launching the business, Renee insisted the studio would offer only the best and safest quality of jewellery and equipment for her clients and as a result, she approached Trinity Conception CBDC for financial support.
Through the Kick$tart program, she was able to purchase stock, equipment, and get set up in her space. Renee encourages any young entrepreneur to seek out CBDC programs like Kick$tart and others so they too can commit to quality when it comes to opening their dream business.
CBDC Trinity Conception supports all kinds of businesses, offering funding or repayable loans with exceptional interest rates. When you’re ready to start a business, talk to one of our business development advisors and open your business idea to the community.
