William Blakney is the proud owner and operator of “Blakney Air” a business that specializes in residential air quality solutions serving the Fredericton, Oromocto and surrounding areas of New Brunswick. Originally from Riverview, William grew up in a family of business owners and enterprising tradespeople specializing in various domains. He acquired many skills from working with his family and knew from an early age that he wanted a hands-on job.
This optimistic entrepreneur launched “Blakney Air” in 2019. As a qualified indoor air quality specialist, William is eager to help his clients to have happier, healthier homes. Blakney Air also offers mini-split/heat- pump, dryer ventilation and air-exchange servicing. He will also be expanding his offerings to include mold and asbestos remediation, furnace cleaning as well as air quality improvement measures resulting from floods and fires. William ensures that each job is done right, from start to completion, with the utmost standard of care.
William is proud of his numerous five-star reviews over the years. For this entrepreneur, the most rewarding aspect of business is customer satisfaction. William grew up Deaf in a hearing world. His sheer determination and unflappable optimism did not allow this to limit his success. To communicate with clients, he relies on texting, writing, closed captioning and video relay services (VRS). William says that sometimes there are misunderstandings, but that technology has come a long way over the years and his natural ability as a communicator helps to bridge any gaps. This young entrepreneur does not allow negativity in his life and always strives to find the positive.
William is thankful for the support of CBDC. According to William, the “Self-Employed Work Assistance Program for People with Disabilities,” helped him with his equipment needs. He is also proud to be the first Deaf client to participate in this program.
This young and determined entrepreneur has many exciting projects on the horizon and looks forward to pursuing his dreams. He would someday like to attend college and expand his services.
