Located throughout rural New Brunswick, the 10 CBDC offices are there to help potential and existing entrepreneurs living in rural communities access capital and other business resources. We are not-for-profit organizations run by volunteers from the local business community who firmly believe in improving the economic viability of their region.We are high risk niche lenders who do not compete with conventional lenders, but work with those entrepreneurs who have difficulty securing capital through traditional sources.

The CBDC Charlotte/Kings Team

Each office is staffed with a team of professionals. They meet with people who are in various stages of the business cycle, reviewing business plans and making suggestions where warranted. They also continue to meet with clients on a regular basis to collect information, monitor progress and offer counselling and training opportunities when needed.

Investment decisions are made by an independent Board of Directors sensitive to the needs of its community. The directors are volunteers from the business sector dedicated to making their community a better place in which to live and work.

The strength of the CBDCs is in our volunteer boards. They have an intimate knowledge of the local markets, the business environment and the people in their communities.

CBDC provides tailored financing, expert guidance, and essential support.

Programs and services delivered by CBDCs may vary by region.
First Time Entrepreneur Loan

This program provides financial assistance for individuals starting their first business or buying an existing one. The loan helps first time small businesses overcome the barriers of traditional lending and offers the guidance needed to launch a successful venture.

General Business Loan

The CBDC General Business Loan offers up to $150,000 in flexible financing for rural Atlantic Canadian businesses seeking to start, expand, or improve operations, helping support economic growth and job creation in local communities.

Innovation Loan

The CBDC Innovation Loan provides up to $150,000 to help rural Atlantic Canadian businesses adopt new technologies, improve productivity, enhance services, train staff, and support infrastructure upgrades to remain competitive and drive economic growth.

Self-Employment Program

Self-Employment (SE) is a program which provides various types of support to eligible unemployed Atlantic Canadians during the initial phase of their business, including financial assistance, counselling and technical advice.

Social Enterprise Loan

The CBDC Social Enterprise Loan offers up to $150,000 to support rural Atlantic Canadian non-profits in starting, expanding, or upgrading socially-driven business operations that promote sustainable economic and community development.

Tariff and Customs Advisory Program

The Tariff and Customs Advisory Program (TCAP) offers Atlantic Canadian companies expert guidance to manage tariffs, optimize supply chains and stay compliant with trade regulations.
